Announcement of the 2026 Summer Festival and Appreciation Bon Odori Dance

To all residents of Aoyama and Omotesando, thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation with the activities of the Aoyama Omotesando Neighborhood Association.

The Aoyama Omotesando Shopping Association is hosting the "Thank You Summer Bon Odori Festival" at the grounds of Aoyama Zenkoji Temple. The Aoyama Omotesando Neighborhood Association is also a sponsoring organization, supporting this annual summer event in the area. For two days, the temple grounds will be adorned with colorful lanterns and the sound of drums will echo through the summer night sky as the event expresses our gratitude to the local community.

We encourage all residents of the neighborhood association to come along with their families and neighbors. We hope you'll join us in your yukata and enjoy a summer evening in Aoyama together with your neighbors.

The venue, the grounds of Aoyama Zenkoji Temple, is easily accessible on foot from the neighborhood association area. From evening until night, as the sun sets and the air begins to cool, join the Bon Odori dance circle under the light of lanterns and enjoy a truly summery moment with the local community.

Enjoy the flavors of summer festivals at the food stalls.

The venue will be lined with food stalls offering classic festival treats such as ramune soda, shaved ice, yakisoba, and frankfurters, as well as cotton candy, popcorn, and draft beer. There will also be yo-yo fishing and game corners, which are popular with children, so families can enjoy themselves all day long. Please note that payments at the food stalls start from 100 yen, so please prepare small change in advance.

Happy free giveaways too

On both days, the first 2000 visitors will receive a free fan and hand towel. These make perfect souvenirs of the summer festival, so please come early. Additionally, at the closing ceremony, the first 700 visitors will receive free sweets, with priority given to children. This is a small token of our gratitude to everyone who enjoys the event until the very end.

This Bon Odori festival is a summer tradition unique to Aoyama and Omotesando, where the shopping district association and neighborhood association work together to enliven the area. Along with radio calisthenics, it is an important opportunity to deepen community ties. Everyone, from children to adults, is welcome to participate, so please come and enjoy the festivities with your family and neighbors.
